I love to read and write books. I’m the published author of a series of books titled: Heartbroken Promises, Heartbroken Promises 2 and currently working on Heartbroken Promises 3. The books are available on http://www.Amazon.com, http://www.booksamiilion.com, and http://www.bn.com just to name a few. I plan on writing many more books since I have a lot of ideas on what I want to write about. My dream is to someday soon see my books come to life as a movie or a television series-That would be great if it did happen. I’m married and have 3 children and 2 pets.
Q: Thank you for this interview, Sherry. Can you tell us what your latest book “Heartbroken Promises 2” is all about?
A: The book is about the main character Vicky Wainright who moves to an island to be near her sister and is quickly torn between two men-one is her alleged kidnapper and the other one a very handsome man named Jordan who hired her to babysit his son Derrick. Vicky tries to decide between the two men but her decision is quickly complicated by an unexpected pregnancy.
Q: Is this your first novel? If not, how has writing this novel different from writing your first?
A: This is my second novel in the Heartbroken Promises series. This novel is different because it continues where the first book left off. The first novel covers Vicky Wainright’s sister Miranda who is heartbroken by her cheating boyfriend and doesn’t trust men anymore. She makes a new life for herself and is quickly falling for her new boss but her ex follows her there and tries to win her back
Q: How difficult was it writing your book? Did you ever experience writer’s block and, if so, what did you do?
A: I had no difficulty in actually writing the books unless you count trying to find the time to concentrate on the process while working full time and taking care of my family. I’ve never experienced writer’s block but if I ever reach that point in the future I will take a break and think about other things and then come back to my writing later. Another thing that would help would be going someplace quiet like a park or maybe a trip somewhere inspiring.
Q: How have your fans embraced your latest novel? Do you have any funny or unusual experiences to share?
A: My fans say that the latest novel is full of action and has many subplots in it. My final book in the series will wrap up many of the plots from the second book and will have some twists in it as well. My unusual experience is that my books are based a little bit on reality to a certain point because in my first book the main character ran away from her home and I did just that when I was sixteen years old.
Q: What is your daily writing routine?
A: Well… I try to jot down my ideas for whichever chapter I’m on at the time. I try to just type away the ideas when I have a chance to sit at the computer. I don’t use an outline for my books. Instead, I put myself in my main character’s shoes and try to make it as interesting as possible.
Q: When you put the pen or mouse down, what do you do to relax?
A: I love spending time with my family and my pets. Also, I love reading, writing interesting characters in my books, and watching movies.
Q: What book changed your life?
A: The book that changed my life would be “The Notebook.” It was made into a movie and each time I watch the movie I cry at the end because it is so sad. It proves that there can be true love in our lives and that marriages can stand the test of time.
Q: If someone were to write a book on your life, what would the title be?
A: I’ve already started on that book and the title is “Runaway to Jekyll Island.” When I was sixteen years old I bought a one way ticket to Jekyll Island and got on a bus and I never made it there.
Q: Finish this sentence: “The one thing that I wish people would understand about me is…”
A: that I love to write books and develop interesting characters for my fans that they will love or hate.
